Star Helath is the first stand alone health insurance company in India. It specializes in Health Insurance, provides quality service at the best rates, and commits itself to the insured’s service.Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited (Star Health) is formed with a capital base of Rs.105 crores, more than what is adequate to form a General Insurance Company. However, Star Health has chosen to be in the field of Health and is the only stand-alone Health Insurance Company as on date in India and deals in Personal Accident, Mediclaim and Overseas Travel Insurance.

At present it offers overseas mediclaim policies, group and individual mediclaim policies and personal accident cover and a major chunk of its revenues comes from personal accident care cover. It has about 17 doctors on its board and has tied-up with 47 doctors for reference purposes.

Of the 800 employees that the company has hired, some 650 are marketing executives and they are expected to appoint over 7000 agents in the next few months
