Gold Plan  

Medical Expenses (including medical evacuation)*- US $50,000 to US $250,000 – This covers medical costs incurred due to illness or accident including medically necessary and prescribed emergency evacuation. It covers defined outpatient, in-patient, medical aid, therapies and diagnostic tests.

Dental Treatment *- US $250 – Covers acute anesthetic treatment of natural teeth.

Repatriation of Remains- Upto medical sum insured– Covers the funeral expenses or expenses of repatriating the remains back to India, in case of death overseas.

Checked Baggage Loss- US $1,000 - Compensation for the permanent loss of checked-in baggage.

Passport Loss ** - US $200 - For expenses incurred in obtaining a fresh or new passport.

Personal Accident- US $25,000 – Compensation paid in case of death or permanent total disability.

Personal Liability- US $100,000 – Compensation of damages to be paid to a third party, resulting from death, injury or damage to health or property caused involuntarily by the insured.

Bail Bond- US $5,000 – For the bail amount, if arrested or detained by police or judicial authorities of the place, for any bailable offence whilst abroad.

Study Interruption- US $7,500 - Reimbursement for the remaining part of the current school semester fee, if studies are interrupted on account of a medical condition or compassionate reasons on the family front.

Sponsor Protection- US $10,000 – Reimbursement of tuition fees in case of demise of person paying for studies due to an accident.

Compassionate Visit- US $7,500 - In case of hospitalization (exceeding 7 days) of student or a family member, where a family member visits student or student visits India. Round trip economy class tickets for student/ family member, and accommodation for the family member visiting abroad, will be reimbursed.

Medical Expenses*-US $ 50,000 to $ 250,000
This covers medical costs incurred due to illness or accident including medically necessary and prescribed emergency evacuation. It covers defined outpatient, in-patient, medical aid, therapies and diagnostic tests.

Dental Treatment*- US $ 250
Resulting from injury to sound natural teeth.

Repatriation of Remains- upto medical sum insured
Covers the funeral expenses or expenses of repatriating the remains back to India, in case of death overseas. This benefit is included under the Medical Cover.

* Deductible of US$ 100. This deductible is applicable on per illness (complete treatment) basis and not on per visit to the doctor / hospital.

Sponsor Protection – US$ 10,000
Reimbursement of tuition fees in case of demise of person paying for studies due to an accident.

Study Interruption – US$ 7,500

Plus Plan

The following covers have been included in the Medical Expenses cover and are not separate benefits, subject to the terms and conditions mentioned below.
Treatment for mental and nervous disorders - US$ 1,000 - Treatment for mental and nervous disorders including alcoholism and drug dependency, is covered under this policy.

In-patient medical expenses related to pregnancy - US$ 500 - In-patient medical expenses related to pregnancy are covered to a maximum limit of US$ 500, after a waiting period of 10 months.

Medical expenses for inter-collegiate sports injuries: Medical expenses for inter-collegiate sports injuries are covered under this policy as part of the medical cover. These expenses will be treated as any other medical expenses for an accident, and will be subject to the terms of conditions mentioned in the policy.

Cancer screening and mammography expenses - US$ 2,000 - Cancer screening and mammography expenses examinations on recommendation from physician will be paid under this policy. Expenses would be paid for the usual and customary charges incurred for these test. Any tests done as a part of preventive health check-up is not included under this benefit.

Childcare benefits - US$ 100 - If the child is above 90 days of age, and is hospitalized for more than 2 days, for any ailment, hospital cash benefit of US$ 100 per day will be paid, subject to a maximum of 7 days.

Claims Process

For Cashless Settlement

1. Inform Third Party Agents (TPA) Help line and register a claim. 2. TPA would validate and authenticate the claim

3. TPA settles bills directly with hospitals/ provides remittance

For Reimbursement Settlement

3. The insured must submit the required documents and completed claim form as per TPA guidance

4. TPA would check and reimburse payments within 7 days.

This claim form must be used if you are covered under the following policies:

- Medical Accident & Sickness Expenses
- Loss of Baggage while traveling
- Delay of Baggage
- Trip Delay
- Personal Liability

Documents required for filing a claim

- Duly completed and signed claim form
- Policy copy
- Air ticket jacket / boarding pass

Additional documents required

For Health Cover

- Original Doctor’s statement mentioning the ailment and treatment prescribed
- Original hospital bills / receipts for the amount fully settled. In case of unsettled hospital bills, to furnish the original payment receipts, which give a clear indication that, the amount due to the hospitals have been settled in full.

For Delay of Baggage

- Original receipts for emergency purchases made during the period when the baggage was delayed
- Letter from airline as to when the baggage was returned back to the insured and if any compensation is paid for settlement of claim for delay of baggage.

For Loss Of Baggage

- Property Irregularity Report issued by the airlines.
- Letter from airline confirming that the baggage has been permanently lost
- And if any compensation is paid towards settlement of claim Description of items lost along with relevant bills (bills are must for items valued in excess of USD100)

For Loss Of Passport

- Receipts for obtaining duplicate passport / travel documents
- Made to embassy of India for making duplicate passport, Emergency
- Certificate issued by embassy of India; stamps, cost of a professional account or solicitor (Excluding any transportation involved in getting duplicate passport.)

Note:
All benefits/reimbursements mentioned here is up to the maximum limit specified against each in the Part I of the Schedule.
Maximum duration per trip: 365 days.
Minimum age of insured persons is 16 years.
Maximum age of insured persons is 35 years.
Non-insurable persons: professional and semi-professional sportsmen.
The policy should start before commencement of the trip for the total duration of the trip.

What is a bail bond?

Bail bond is a provision wherein if you are arrested or detained by police or judicial authorities for a bailable offence while abroad, you would be eligible for a US $ 5000 coverage to bail you out of judicial custody.

What is ‘compassionate visit’ and how is it beneficial?

In case of the insured being hospitalized for more than 7 days the family members can visit the student abroad. They are eligible for round class economy class tickets and accommodation for the trip would be provided to the person visiting.

Is there any age limit for this policy?

You have to be a minimum of 16 years of age and not beyond 35 years of age to be eligible for the policy.
